What we use and why
Your application answers, photos, contact details and service records are used to review your application, provide introductions and guidance, manage appointments and respond to requests. Necessary processing supports your application and contract; statutory records meet legal obligations. Security and complaint handling protect legitimate interests. Optional newsletters use separate consent. Required form fields are marked; without them, we may be unable to review or provide the service. Decisions about admission and pairing are made personally.
Who can see it
Your profile is private. A selected participant can receive your approved introduction, first name, age, location, photos and relevant compatibility summary. Your full questionnaire and private notes are not shared with that person. WhatsApp and optional Facebook details are released only after both agree to connect. Your email remains for your account and communications from Mélih.
Necessary providers handle website operation, security, communications, payments and appointments. A private introduction may involve a participant abroad, including the Philippines. Cross-border processing must use an applicable legal transfer basis; contact us for details of the safeguards for your situation.
How long we keep it
Your matchmaking profile, questionnaire and photos are removed when participation ends, unless a new service is expressly agreed. Mélih handles this closure. Contract, accounting and claim evidence are retained separately for their applicable legal periods: invoices for 10 years from the financial year’s closure and electronic consumer contracts of at least EUR 120 for 10 years after the service. Other necessary claim records are retained only for the applicable limitation period or until a dispute is resolved. These exceptions do not keep your full profile active.
Browser storage and messages
Essential browser storage supports sign-in and account setup. If you choose “Save and continue later”, an encrypted draft of your answers and photos stays on that device, protected by your passphrase. It can be reopened for seven days; expired copies are removed on the next browser check. You can delete the draft, and the site attempts to remove it after confirmed submission. Saving a draft does not submit your application.
Service emails concern your own account and appointments; meeting links are sent only to the relevant recipient. A contract-withdrawal declaration records your name, contract reference, email and received time. Applying does not subscribe you to a newsletter. No advertising tracker is added by the website.
Your choices and rights
Write to team@melihmatchmaker.com to request access, correction, erasure, restriction or portability, or to object where applicable. You may withdraw consent without affecting prior lawful processing. We respond within one month, or explain a permitted extension. You may complain to the CNIL. Legal retention duties can limit erasure of the necessary records.
